So it's getting to that time of year where you want to start working on your summer body, yes this effects Men almost as much as Women :-) that pressure where you feel you need to look a certain way with washboard abs etc because that's all Women want right? the same as all Men supposedly want to see a slim toned figure on a Woman........
Of course as Fitness is a big enjoyment for me that means my OCD hates it so right now as much as i try to push against my OCD is becoming a bit too difficult for me, the Scenario is simple again if i get really fit and begin to turn into Ronaldo then something really bad will happen to me
Now some people especially those who don't understand OCD may tell me to simply ignore it but sometimes the OCD is so good at convincing you that these thoughts are real that your body will react in the same way any normal person would if they put themselves into a situation where they feel something bad will happen if they do it, like running into a burning building, getting caught up in a massive street brawl or being stuck in a crowd full of people who have a potentially infectious disease. The body will react like there's a legitimate danger that feels so real you very often can't ignore it.
I very often have the same issue with Food when it comes to what i want to eat, and when i want to eat it, went 24 hours with no Food earlier in the week due to such a strong OCD fight back which is not good but managed to control it rest of the week
Now of course getting help/treatment for this on the NHS would be a excellent start i know, and this is a issue which is still on going, check my last blog post from nearly 6 months ago :-)
Nothing much has changed, despite a much more positive appointment in March the AMHT team is basically saying i need to have NO CBT treament privately or any other form of treatment apart from drugs for 6 months until i can get it on the NHS just incase the CBT treament i have been receiving privately "Which i can't afford anyway, £10,000 in debt and counting" interferes with the treatment i will get on the NHS.
Of course this approach has no logic as CBT especially in my case recently is more of a talking therapy not like a medication where your body needs time to adjust, so this could be a excuse to avoid them admitting there's a 6 month waiting list?
In the mean time a small dose of Risperidone on top of my current SSRI has been recommended which i may well choose to try on a very small dose, But apart from that the dance with the NHS continues nearly a year since i originally tried to get help
