Some studies do suggest there is a overlap between OCD and Schizophrenia, infact the paranoid obsessive thoughts of a OCD sufferer could be Schizophrenic in itself, such as the pure fact we feel we do control things through our rituals though they have no realistic connection.

It is important to note that as yet there is no proven link between OCD and Schizophrenia but the fear and connection can make OCD sufferers feel that maybe they are about to lose control and become a danger to others?

But there is the huge difference OCD is not a danger to others infact it is the complete opposite, OCD sufferers are so fixed in making sure that they and others are ok that they will go to extra lengths, a lot more than others to make sure everything is safe, even if that is through many many many rituals and obsessions which have no real connection to what they fear.

The condition is called Hypermorality OCD, a huge inflated sense of responsibility of them and others around them.

There are many great reads out there on OCD Hypermorality and i would urge you to go out there and find them, then realise that if you ever feel a OCD sufferer would be unstable or unsafe to look after others, realise that it is actually quite far the opposite more than you would ever realise
