How Eastenders could prove a unlikely opportunity for OCD sufferers

I am very sure 99% of you watch, or atleast know of Eastenders and what is going on lately? Mainly relating to the ongoing storyline relating to Stacey's Bi Polar and Postpartrum psychosis since giving birth to her baby.

A fantastic, realistic and well written storyline in which many viewers really feel as if they begin to understand a little about BPD and PPP but also they feel for Stacey and what she, plus her loved ones are going through right now and her struggles, so how does this prove a unlikely opportunity for OCD sufferers to raise awareness and understanding about there illness?

Well it has occured to me, especially on a personal level, that what Stacey is going through is not to far from what some OCD sufferers will go through, or though in our case these thoughts are more internal rather than out loud and open as we see Stacey do.

Superstitous OCD, Magical thinking OCD and Religious OCD especially but also pretty much all forms of OCD will go through very similar issues and internal dialogue, Stacey genuinally believes she is being given signs on how to keep her baby safe, she even follows these signs especially with the broken glass on the floor to protect her.....This is not uncommon for many OCD sufferers to have especially in the case of Superstitious, Magical thinking and Religious OCD.

Stacey genuinally believes she can see things going on around her that nobody else can't such as danger or dangerous people, this is also not uncommon for OCD sufferers especially Contamination OCD and again Superstitious, Magical thinking OCD.

Stacey right now has to be persuaded and convinced that the logical action is the safest action for her, despite her doubts and paranoia.....paranoia is also not uncommon in certain forms of OCD.

So we have a opportunity here fellow OCD sufferers, urge people you want to understand to watch Stacey, because alot of what shes saying and doing is what us OCD sufferers are thinking secretly inside.
