1 Short walk turns into a Marathon

One of my big OCD rituals is repeating footsteps, or making unessecary footsteps, today was a perfect example outside in this lovely weather, a simple walk up and down the garden turns into a big OCD chore.
I will try my best to simply walk straight from the top of my garden to the house, but it turns into me moving 1 footback almost like to cancel out the previous step it made and start again because it didn't feel right the first time
"Repeat that step again or somet really bad will happen to you"
That is a very common one with me when walking, another is when there is a object in my path for example a lamp post. Sometimes i will feel forced by my OCD to walk around the lamp post rather than just walking past it, sometimes i will feel the need to repeat these above rituals 2 or 3 times in a row before i can FINALLY carry on with where i am trying to go always a very awkward situation if i am caught in that position when there are other people around its more a case of making it look natural, or trying to sneak it in when nobody is looking, because of course you cant imagine saying
"Sorry i was just walking around this post because i think something horrible will happen if i dont"
"Just ignore it" is what many would think right? But we sufferers know that is much easier said than done but more on that next time
